Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Vanstratt Creative LLC ("we", "us") handles information in our event apps for iPhone and Android and our related websites. Our apps are provided to attendees on behalf of event organizers, such as companies and associations hosting a meeting or conference. In this policy, "you" means a person using one of our apps.
Information we collect
Information from your event organizer. When you register for an event, the organizer gives us the details needed to set up your access, such as your name, email address, company, job title, photo and your role at the event (for example attendee, speaker or sponsor).
Information you provide. Changes you make to your profile, your choice about appearing in the attendee list, messages you send to the event help desk, and requests you make to us.
Information collected when you use the app.
- Usage information, such as which screens, sessions, speakers, sponsors, pages and links you view or tap, searches you make in the app, and when you log in.
- Device information, such as device type, operating system, app version and a push notification token if you allow notifications.
- Diagnostic information, such as crash reports and error logs, used to find and fix problems.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or information from other apps, and we do not use advertising identifiers.
How we use information
- To provide the app, including logging you in and showing your event's content.
- To send event notifications and login emails, such as one-time codes and password resets.
- To run the event help desk.
- To produce reports for your event organizer about how the app was used.
- To keep the app secure, prevent misuse, and fix problems.
What your event organizer can see
Your event organizer receives reports about app use for their event. These always include whether and when you logged in. Usage such as views and taps is normally reported as totals. Some organizers choose to receive per-person usage reports, which can show which sessions, speakers, sponsors or pages you viewed. The organizer is responsible for how it uses information it receives, under its own privacy policy.
The attendee list
Some events include an attendee list that other attendees can search. Depending on the event, you are either listed unless you choose to hide yourself, or hidden unless you choose to be listed. You can change this at any time in My profile. Hidden attendees are never sent to other attendees' phones.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We share information only:
- With the organizer of the event you are attending, as described above.
- With service providers that run parts of our service on our behalf, such as cloud hosting and database services, push notification delivery through Apple and Google, email delivery, and crash reporting. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or security of our users, our clients or us.
How long we keep information
We keep event information only as long as needed for the event and its reporting. Personal information for an event is deleted after a period set for that event, normally 90 days after it ends. Totals that do not identify anyone may be kept longer.
Your choices and rights
- Turn notifications on or off in your phone's settings.
- Choose whether to appear in the attendee list in My profile.
- Request access to or deletion of your information from My profile in the app, or by emailing nick@vanstrattcreative.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Contact us to exercise them.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit, and passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. Each event's information is kept separate from every other event's. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
Our apps are intended for professional events and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
